Burntout is akin to a late-night conversation with old and new friends, a curiosity hub, a craft night, dancing it out, a space for process, experimentation, deep discussion, and laughter. It is that liminal, grey space when you are both delirious and creatively charged. When speaking with friends, the consensus is: we’re burntout. We want to add another place to meet in various ways to be burntout together, whether that be through learning about someone’s work, reading a poem, or having a brainstorm session. This site is meant to spark something in you, raise inspiration, wonder, and sensation.
/burntout/ (v):
The residue of burnout. To stay awake through exhaustion out of passion, versus to push past what’s healthy or to endure the pain of meeting a deadline or an end goal that is distributed by the many stresses capitalism inhabits.
To follow the residue: a flow-state and an intuitive pull, where time and the keeping of it disappear due to how present you are. To be in-the-moment with the people around you.
